What's a good way to cool down when it's really hot in the house?

Answer #1

Cold shower, drink ice water or suck an ice cube, keep a fan on to move the air around (it will help evaporate you perspiration faster, and that cools you down), go see a movie at an air-conditioned theater

Answer #2

A cold soak in the tub will work. You could also wet a t-shirt (or just the sleeves) in lukewarm water to get the cool feeling; cold water will actually probably just make you sick since it’ll most likely be cooler than you think.

Keep in mind your hands, feet, face, and ears radiate the most heat on your body. Targeting those places with cool water will probably yield some favorable results.

Heat tends to rise, so stay in the lower parts of your home or sit/lay on your floor for a while.

Answer #3

Go take a shower and then if you have a fan. Blow it against yourself

Answer #4

Take a shower, or a bath, eat icecream or popsicles, keep hydrated stay downstairs or in your basement. Go to a mall or a friend’s house.

Answer #5

As others have suggested, cold shower will help you. Drinks a lot of water to replace the sweat. What my dad and my brothers used to do when it is too hot was taking their shirts off before we had the air conditioner.

I take hot baths when it’s hot … Why? Because once you get out of the hot bath, the air surrounding you feels cooler, and the effect lasts longer than it would from a cold bath or shower.

Slow down.Moving burns up calories and energy, making you feel hot. If you rest and take it easy, you’ll probably feel better even while the environment is baking like a sauna.
