Answer #2

A simile is when you compare something with the words like or as. A metaphor is when you just say it with out either of those two words.

Answer #3

A simile compares two nouns using the words “like” or “as.”

For example, “Her eyes were LIKE the ocean.” Or “He was as angry AS a raging bull.”

A metaphor compares two nouns without the use of those words.

For example, “The man was a rock to those who knew him, a pillar of strength for friends in need.”

Answer #4

Yes, the classic example is:

My love’s like a red, red rose = simile (because of ‘is LIKE’)

My love is a red, red rose = metaphor (because of IS, and no ‘like’)

Answer #5

the boy is ‘as’ tall ‘as’ his father. The boy and his father are very tall. The first is a simile while the lather is a metaphor. Simile: comparing two things with d help of as or like. Metaphor: comparing two things without d help of as or like.
