What type of laptop should I get?

I am saving up for a laptop. I want to get a macbook, but my friends( a few of them ) hate macs and say that they are really bad. However my computer savvy sister says that they are the best. Which one is true? Also what type of laptop would you recommend. Any info is helpful:)

laptops in my eyes are at best still in beta :-/

im not a laptop fan due to their inability of producing top of the line graphics and ease of upgrading…

with that out the way: im a windows fan and have never even seen a mac in person…

but, if reviews are anything to go by then a mac will be a better choice for a teenager who knows nothing about computers as macs dont crash, how true that is I dont know. but as I said if reviews are anything to go by ;)

for compatibility of games and the such the choice is a windows laptop.

if games arent your thing then go for a mac..

personally id be saving for a uber PC ;)

MACX suck and your sister prob knows nothing about comps if she plays with macs.they are both computers and they both get problems but macs are a little more worse on that side.I would say go with Dell or HP or maybe toshiba.as temp said stay away from acer and dont buy a netbook as said in there name it is a netbook only dood 4 surfing the net.Windows 7 also sucks as bad as vista so stick with xp.happy computer hunting.

Whatever you do, stay away from Acer… I’ve been down that road and don’t want anyone else to experience it.

I like Dell xps, lap tops the best with windows 7, but I do know mac’s for the most part are good. my dell worked good! til I downloaded games on it, and it kept getting issues. lol

I love my mac SOOO much. they are pretty awesome and now I know I will never be able to go back to a pc :)
