How do I get songs from my ipod onto my laptop?

Because I got a new laptop, how do I get the songs either from my ipod onto the laptop, or from my old laptop onto my new laptop? I have tried just plugging in the ipod into my new laptop but nothing happened.

You will have to make backup discs from your itunes to cds. Then upload the backup discs to your new computer. All the info on your Itunes will be transferred to your new computer. Keeping back up discs is also a great way to keep from losing everything if your computer crashes. I would also suggest labeling and numbering the cds so you dont get them mixed up.
