Do I save or do I let go?

Last week my lap had somehow caught a Vista Guardian trogen virus, and it really done some damage I cant even open paint & and you know thats bad when you cant even open paint. I cant open hardly any programs what so ever because of it.

A friend of mine who is like a computer wiz told me I had a choice was to keep using it or let him back up all my stuff and wipe my laptop clean and put on windows 7 with all the components like firewall updates and virus protection stuff like that.

The question is should I keep old pictures of me when there is history and a bad memory with every picture mind you there is over 1,000 +, or should I let them pictures go and start over keeping the new ones I took in the last 2 years that have with good memories and such?

Answer #1

I would let the friend wipe the hard drive and install Win7 (which is AMAZING) I would keep the pictures which were most important to you. This time, however, try to keep a subscription to Norton or Mcafee, or at least get AVG or avast!.

Answer #3

I’ve use win7 since beta and its wicked so get that installed..

but beware that microsoft have announced a patch to catch all win7 exploits to be released soon ;)

if your puter wiz mate was a wiz he would know that the vista guardian virus attatches itself to neally everything on the infected system so backing up could just be a storage of the virus untill 1 day you double click a pic to open it and bam, your infected again

the vista guardian virus is picked up by AVG so if you download and install that it will clear it for you ok :)
