What is this "fau" user and why do other people's Q's show up there

I’ve seen in the past week, many questions have changed to the original poster being called “fau” – is it some type of bug? Then the real name thanks everyone at the end of all the replies.

Answer #1

And the other thing - some people want to ask questions anonymously. In our system, a question has to be asked by a member, so if you anonymize your question, it’s not in your account anymore, but mapped to the “fau” member.

Answer #2

Great idea - the anonymous thing. Stops us all from having to have several personalities!

Answer #3

‘Fau’ is a bit like the Funadvice Robot. It is a default name for people questions asked by deleted accounts.
