Im doing a project of dred scott v. Stanford. And I need a breif defination of the election of 1860 please(:

Simple. The states succeeded BEFORE Abe Lincoln became president…and they had threatened to during the campaign.

This was all due to the law preventing the spread of the institution of slavery to new states…it wasn’t about abolishing it then, it was simply containing it to currently practicing states.

England had made it illegal…but the USA had not. So the racist bastards took their states and made a new country…in any case, most of this should be in your books for class if you’re supposed to write something, yes?
