Why are the US elections so huge?

I mean, I’ve been hearing about it for so long over here in england!

But when our prime minister changed from Tony Blair to Gordon Brown, I didn’t even realise until about 2 months ago lmao.

Maybe I’m just no good when it comes to politics :)

Answer #1

Probably because the US is the only country in the world with large scale military operations in foreign countries at the moment, and encapsulates 1/3 of the world’s GDP.

Answer #2

This election that’s going on today is probably important because it’s going to be a historic one..espcially if or when Obama becomes president. Thats what they’re saying here anyway. Plus the U.S. has big impacts all over the world. Whoever is chosen president will lead one of the best countries in the world. They would be responsible for lots of things.
