What would happen if the elections are tied?

I have heard that if that happen the president would be a republican and the vicepresident would be a democrat. I mean how that would work that would be a really crazy thing. What do you think?

I read that in the event that both candidates receive 269 electoral votes, the U.S. House of Representatives is given responsibility for breaking the Electoral College tie under the Constitution. Each congressional delegation would be given one vote to cast, and the candidate with the majority would become president…

If there is a tie in the number of electoral votes, then the House of Representatives chooses the president, where each state in the House gets ONE vote. The senate chooses the vice president.

In case of tie, one of them will be chosen by majority votes of all the members of the congress, voting separately
