What is better a ferret or a hamster?

I want a hamster and or a ferret what is better? Wich is better I want to know cause I am about to get one so please answer this question about ferrets and hamsters

Answer #1

both have ups and downs, ferrets are more interactive and loving and social, but are also more costly than hamsters and can live longer. hamsters are for someone who likes little interaction with the animal because hamsters sleep during the day and also can b a bit moody if you handle them too long :)

Answer #2

Get the one that is hardest to forget about or ignore. which one makes more noise

Answer #3

Hamsters are a lot less work, but ferrets seem to have more personality. Ferrets are very smart and they enjoy interacting with you. Hamsters are cool, but they kind of do their own thing. Plus ferrets are not nocturnal like hamsters are. I would suggest a ferret, but only if you are willing to put in a lot of time and energy into it.

Answer #4

Ferrets have a lot of cleaning required. Or, like tinkertot95 said, they will stink up your room REALLY bad. Hamsters require less maintaining and wont stink up your room. Unless you don’t clean its cage. Which should be cleaned like once a week. So I would prefer a hamster.

Answer #5

Okay, so I had two hamsters before, but they died of old age a few months ago and they stunk up my room. Like no matter how much I cleaned their cage, it stunk. My aunt has a ferret and it poops a lot and that smells too. So be aware that they are both stinky sometimes. But honestly, the hamsters are better.

Answer #6

Ferrets require a lot more care and a bigger space to live in, not to mention they can be quite aggressive animals. Hamsters, on the other hand, are much easier to handle, keep clean and basically take care of. If you are looking for a pet that you can handle and play with then my advice would be to get a hamster, but if you are more experienced in taking care of animals and are ready to take responsibily for one, then you can get a Ferret. Ultimately, the choice is yours.

Answer #7

ferrets are more active and you can train them
