What counts as child abuse?

In a house hold, what counts as child abuse from parents I mean where is the line drawn? Yes verbal emotinal and physical

Answer #1

According to one well known authority, physical abuse would include hitting with ANY physical object, including belts, switches, and canes.

Answer #2

Dear xxxlostromancexxx, Ty’s correct…but there is an actual line. You can spank a child gently without leaving a mark and this is considered legal in most places. Places such as Sweden do not even allow this. Anything more than this is an offence. Verbal abuse is also not allowed: it falls under emotional abuse and is defined by anything that would humiliate a child. Calling a child “stupid” is humiliation, you’re dumb is humiliation. Sue…good luck

Answer #3

Physical abuse: physically harmful acts including punching, beating, kicking, biting, burning, shaking; often occurs as a result of overdiscipline or punishment

Verbal abuse is a little harder to define exactly (it isnt against the law per se, maybe if it was considered as emotional abuse?)

But there is no actual line, it’s all up to interpretation, if the kid is being harmed in any way than you would probably call it abuse…
