How can I learn more about Jesus and christianity

emo.. it is so wonderful and refreshing, especially on this board, to hear someone really want to find out about God, and the bible,so many that come here, do so, because it is their desire to lead others away from God… Thank you so very much… for desiring to know him.

Here are some websites that offer prayer. you can send in an email anytime you want to. You can ask that God would help your mother to see that going to church is a good thing, and also that her heart could be changed, so that she could receive Jesus as her savior.

You’ve been given many websites. So I will only respond to the forgiveness part. Anything and everything “wrong/sinful” is only between you and God. Whenever, you ask God to forgive you He does. He knows the desires of your heart even before you address them. He just wants us to acknowledge that we have done bad stuff. I truely admire the fact that you are seeking Jesus Christ it says a lot regardless of your situation, keep on going don’t let anything detour you from this. I am a mother also and I could never imagine serving as an obstacle between my kids and God. Life is hard as is and yet more difficult without God. If you believe, you will find Him. God forgives and forgets He is like that. Sometimes “we” ourselves dwell on our wrong doings more than we should. That can also prevent us from searching for God. Thinking we are not good enough or because of what we have done. God wants us as is, He will take care of the rest. Don’t get discouraged, good life to you.

In Isaiah 44:22 I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist.

I love to hear young people that are really interested in Jesus! It is way too often the other way around, where they want nothing to do with Him.

The Bible tells us that some children will go to heaven without their parents…you may be one of those. Maybe you can talk with your parents and help them see how important God is.

I’m glad you’ve been given some website advice. And I’m glad that you’re looking to Jesus. I just wanted to add that being depressed and suicidal aren’t sins. God needs you to recognise things you’ve done wrong and turn from them. But depression and suicidal thoughts aren’t choices and so they aren’t sins. They have been a sad part of your life and any good church will help you deal with them, but won’t expect you to take the blame for them.

I am glad there are still people out there like you who don’t want to “make excuses” for the wrong they do or have done. God can’t help the unrepentant. You are headed in the right direction. Do you have a Bible? It is so hard to just give a quick answer on here. I can give you verses to look up in the Bible, if you have one. I want you to know that God loves you and wants to forgive you. No matter what you have done. The Bible says, in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Also, Romans 3:10 says, "There is none righteous, no, not one." That means you are a sinner, and I am a sinner. I think you have made it clear that you understand and know that you are a sinner. Murderers are sinners, liars are sinners, and guess what? Preachers are sinners. I go to church 3 times a week, and I am a sinner. That is why we need Jesus. 
Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." We are sinners and have fallen short of God's glory, his perfection. We can't help ourselves, only God can help us. He sent Jesus to die for us, and to make a way for us to go to heaven. 
John 3:36 says, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
In John 14:1-3&6, jesus says, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
How can YOU be saved? How can YOU get to Heaven? How can YOU be forgiven? You can!! It IS possible!! And it is only Through Jesus Christ the Lord!!
Romans 5:6-8 says, "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarecely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus!! God's own Son!!! Came to this earth, lived a sinless, perfect life (Because He is the only one who can!), and died---on that cruel cross...WHY? For YOU!  For ME! For sinners!! WHY?? Because He loves us!! Because God loves us!! But that isn't all. He arose from the grave.
"Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures..." (First Corinthians 15:3-4)
And Romans 10:9-10&13 tell us how we can be forgiven and go to heaven: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Believe that God loves you, and that Jesus died for you, and rose again. Put your faith and trust in that. Admit to God that you are a sinner. Pray, and tell him so. And ask HIM to forgive you of all your sins, and He will. And ask Jesus, Ask God to change your life. Just give your life to Him, and say, " I don't want to belong to me, God. I want to belong to you." He has promised that "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." 
Do that, and I guarantee that God will do wonderful things, and you will be amazed!!
