Who knows if snakes are hibernating or out right now?

Last year at the end of summer me and my dad found a ring neck snake (garden snake). I held it and played with it and it was amazing. I loved it. My dad wouldn’t let me have a pet snake, so I started looking for them every day, but my dad said they were probably all headed for hibornation by then. When do they start coming back out again? And does anyone know anything else about them? Like how to track them and where they like to hang out? Oh ya, I live in Missouri if that helps.

hey mate how you doing im the same I love looking for snakes as well but just so you know snakes are not toys they are wild animals witch I learnt grass snakes are not deadly but do have very mild venom witch can make you very ill in some cases you could be in hospital for along time if you an alergic reactiong to its bite very much like a bee sting grass snakes are very interesting and I have found loads mostly were there are lots of water such as lakes ponds and streams and rivers but I have also tried put tin roofing that you find on garage and shed roof tops they will hide under there for heat as they are cold blooded reptiles and need heat to live and hunt if your dad dose decide to let you keep one then you must never use heat rocks as they will seriusly burn your snake as you would burn your hand if you put it in a fire to give it the heat it needs then you are going to need a medium sized viv heat mat and a thermomitor aswellas a thermostat the grass snakes are due to breed about now if I was you id leave it for a couple of weeks beacuse you will get bit and trust me it hurt like loads of needles going into your hand also because of the adder a snake with strong venom witch kills a dosen people every year please go on to google and study these snakes before aproching them im one the adder victims and the pack a very pain less bite but one hell of after pain

I hope this helps a lot but please respect the wounderful animals if you would like to know more about snakemaster is always here to help and give acurate answers

make sure you learn about the venomouse and non-venomous snakes that live in your state and dont just go off grabbing every snake you see this website describes the poisonouse and harmless snakes in missouri http://mdc.mo.gov/nathis/herpetol/snake/snake1.htm and remember all snakes can bite

also keep in mind snakes dont like to be abducted from there home/resting place and picked up and help, so its better to watch them from a distance so you dont disturb them
