What about Green Tea?

Is green tea good for you and weight loss? I know that Sweetners are not all that great for you so am I damaging myself more by drinking green tea (I get the packs to go to pour in my water bottles) and does it have caffeine, naturally?

Answer #1

I am a big fan of green tea =] I drank soda for 13 years and have decided to stop. so I live off of water and green tea. water- drink 8 cups a day/ make you fuller. green tea- drink enough of it and it eats away fat. there ya go =]

Answer #2

Caffeine boosts your metabolism (Caffeine is also called guaranine when found in guarana, and theine when found in tea; all of these names are synonyms for the same chemical compound.) So I would say drinking green tea is good for weight loss, but so is coffee! (but drinking too much can give you mild heartburn and give you the impression that you are hungry) I don’t think theres any proof that it increases fat oxydation yet, but if you like it, why not drink it! :)

Answer #3

Yes, green tea is good for you. Studies have also shown that tea (including green tea) helps to regulate your blood sugar making you feel less hungry, so that the net effect is weight loss.

It does have caffiene, but it’s a much lower level than coffee or sodas. You can drink as much tea as you want and never get jittery, unless you have a caffeine allergy.

However, if you are adding sweeteners to it (including artifical ones), you are ruining much of the good effect. Learn to enjoy it either plain, or just with mint, lemon, or other natural flavorings. If you quit drinking sweetened drinks, your taste adjusts, and you can sense the slightly sweat natural flavor of the tea.
