who can tell me about weights that you strap on when running?

Weights that you can strap onto your wrists or ankles when running, and somehow they help you get a better workout. Could anyone tell me how they help? How they work? And how do I know how much weight to use? And how much they help?

Answer #1

weight vests are best for running as individual leg and/or arm weights don’t distribute as evenly, making strains more likely

Answer #2

Weight vests are the types of weights built into a vest that you wear. They also make weighted arm bands and leg bands. They’re used mostly by endurance runners to “challenge” their body when training for marathons, but can be used by weight lifters as well. I’ve used both the bests and the leg bands when doing pull ups, but I prefer the weighted belt strapped on with a 45-lb. plate to be better for my taste.

One thing I hate about the bests is that it traps heat and makes you sweat like crazy. Good if you’re trying to burn off pounds. :)
