Want to lose weight about 2-3 stone, how do you do it?

Hi I really want to lose weight about 2-3 stone I am eating healthy and exercising 2 times a week (aerobic classes) is there anything else I can do and has any body lost that amount of weight if so how long did it take and how did you do it.

Answer #1

I lost that amount of weight when I had anorexia which believe me was not a good time and put my health at serious risk. I know that losing that huge amount of weight might sound appealing but unless you are overweight (with a BMI of over 25) there is nothing good about getting down to a tiny weight. Bones stick out, you become pale and gaunt, you can lose the ability to ever have children, I know it sounds dramatic but you can die. Be sure that your BMI is over 25 before you attempt to lose a lot of weight.

But it is a good thing to begin eating healthily and aerobic exercise two times a week is a brilliant and very sensible thing to do. Make sure you eat enough :)

I need to lose over 3 stone as I am 13st 10 lbs at the moment I was 15st 2lb a couple months ago! in a week I have lost 7 pounds which is half a stone, just by having only 500 calories a day and doing exercise everyday. its pretty simple, the less you put in your mouth and the more exercise you do, you WILL get slimmer. starving totally will not make you lose weight but grazing through the day and having 500 calories keeps my energy going! but this is only sensible for people that are very overweight and have a lot to lose.

Yeah I did, I actually went dow and 3 stone in 3 weeks on a dieting programme me and my friends set up for our- selves. All we did was keep track of how many callories we were eating each meal and/or snack then we went to the gym everyday to burn it off and ate helthy ran a few round the block, I was so happy with my new figure I booked a holiday for me and my husband to Florida for 2 weeks then I lost yet another stone whilst I was there it also helps if you do it with friends or family as its like competative to see who can resist and lose the most weight I didn’t win though I came second my sister in law Eden lost 5 but it was quite easy for her as she’s into a lot of sport and quite young like yourself im 44 but I still pulled it off so im sure if you keep motivated and do an hour of excercise each day you should lose that 2-3 pounds you want and hey maybe book yourself a holiday and lose even-more weight :) it cost us £2.800 for me and my husband to go to florida but you couldc got to spain or french riviera its really cheap like I think about an aveage of £275 pp for a week and spending money about £800 and a short flight if you havn’t been on an aeroplane before and go show off your sexy figure :) hope all goes well…x Cherie Wiley 44 Surrey U.K

I lost that amount of weight and a little bit more (about 4 stone) and I was only a size 10-12 when is started and in the end I had to wear childrens sizes age 10 and I was 17 at the time. I was literally a double 0 no joke!! Dieting made me get annorexia!!! I only ate lettuce leaves and fruit it was not healthy at all! I ran/ walked 2 hours a day I covered about 9 miles! My mind was all over the place I only thought about running!! I got so thin that my therapist said if I lost one more pound I would die!! Dieting means die-ing to me now after my experience. Just eat normally and exercise!

How to LOSE weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier. Remember, you didn’t gain your weight overnight so don’t expect to lose if overnight. Plus, weight lost slowly is more likely to stay off than weight lost in a hurry.

BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

BMI Classification

25 to 29.99 Overweight
30 to 34.99 Obesity (Class 1)

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Another thing that helps to lose weight is to always eat a good breakfast. That helps to jump start your metabolism which helps start burning calories. Also, try to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. One before every meal (except breakfast) and before all snacks. That helps curb your appetite which helps reduce caloric intake.
