Would this water be safe to bathe in, or brush my teeth with?

Okay, so when you look at the attached photo, you’ll see something rusty colored over our drain (and yeah, the bathtub looks horrible too), which was some scrubber that didn’t really work for me, so it’s used to catch water from the leaky faucet.. and it was pure white when we bought it. And stayed that way UNTIL it was put under the leaky faucet.. so is this water safe? Because I’m trying to turn over a new leaf and start brushing my teeth and bathing more frequently, but I want to know if I’d be putting more infection and filth into my mouth and body. Also, this is tap water and we live in a little town in Indiana, if that makes any difference. Oh, and whenever the town works on the water pipes or something it becomes a dark yellow color… but it’s clear when they aren’t. EDIT: I forgot to mention, we live in a trailer court and we don’t own the trailer, and I’m 15, and we’re sorta poor so..

Answer #1

If the water is that color is not safe for anathing, contact a plumber and have him/her take a look at it.

Answer #2

It’s normal for there to be brown water when the town shuts the water off for maintenance - it’s just dirt that got into the pipes…let it run a little and it’s fine. However, if your water is like that all the time, then you need to notify the town and have them take a look at it….as for bathing and brushing your teeth…it looks gross, but it won’t kill you.

Answer #3

The water is usually clear.. but it’s the water dripping on the scrubber and turning it that color is what concerns me.

Answer #4

I can’t even tell what’s at the bottom of it, it looks super gross

Answer #5

Okay then..
