walking my border collie!

I have a boder collie puppy, and she is eleven weeks now, how long should I walk her for each day? and how often? I read somewhere that you need to let puppies joints develop, but I was just wondering if that was only in certain breeds. thankyou for your help,, you’re dogs are gorgeous by the way :D xx

I’d think a border collie pup could walk 1/2 of a mile, 2 or 3 times a day without worry to her joints…Actually, jumping up into a truck, or leaping after a frisbee are the things that are tough on a young dogs joints. Border collies don’t grow up to be very big, either, and it’s the very large dogs like Rotties, German Shepherd, Dobes etc that need hyper vigilance on their joints.

If it were me, I’d take her for a number of shorter walks per day, instead of one long one…
