Is there different types of anorexia ? (read the description , it'll make more sence)

do you have to starve yourself to be someone who is anorexic ? If you’re obsessed with counting calories , how much you weigh , and are terrified of gaining weight , feel bad when you eat too much , constantly comparing yourself to others , never believe people when they say youre thin , but not starving yourself or obsessive exorcise ? Just trying to eat less than your recommended calorie intake because you know starving yourself may also cause weight gain ? I said in the question ‘are there different types of anorexia’ because I didn’t know how to word it ….

Answer #1

yeah theres blimick or however you spell it where you throw up your food that might be purging though but im pretty sure purging and blimick are the same

Answer #2

Anorexia isn’t about being super skinny or obsessed with weight. Anorexia is a mental illness where the person looks in a mirror and actually sees themselves as bigger than they are, acting on anorexia is when they would starve themselves (and sometimes throw up the food that they do eat- bulimia). A person who is slightly on the chubby side could be anorexic, you don’t have to be stick-thin to be anorexic. Being stick-thin is just the last part of the illness before the person dies. Most anorexic people slowly stop eating and start exercising more until they can’t exercise because they are not eating enough to have any energy.

alright first here are my fav WTF bits from previous answers :

“Anorexia is a mental illness where the person looks in a mirror and actually sees themselves as bigger than they are” (watched too much family guy)

“Being stick-thin is just the last part of the illness before the person dies” (no, just no)

“Most anorexic people slowly stop eating and start exercising more until they can’t exercise because they are not eating enough to have any energy.” (exer…what??? lol)

Someone didnt read up on wikipedia O_O

anyway : Anorexia nervosa is a mental illness where a person refuses to maintain a healthy body weight and an obsessive fear of gaining weight.

it is often coupled with dirstorted self image BUT not that the person sees themselves as fat but FEELS “fat” or different(thats a huge difference in psychology)

there is only one type of anorexia but the etiology is quite huge : from zinc deficiency, brain derived neurotropic factors different hormones, environmental etc…

bulimia is a different pathology thank you very much

inb4 sh*t storm :P

You are only clinically diagnosed as anorexic if you are severely underweight, I think BMI of <15 or something around there..but you can certainly have the MINDSET without the body.

Answer #5
