Type 1 Diabetes

Recently I noticed that I was constantly thirsty and while I was wondering out loud about it someone mentioned that it might be diabetes. The idea kinda stuck with me so I looked it up and I realized I have a few of the other symptoms. Besides being constantly thirsty, I have to pee every 40 min, I’m always hungry, my mood changes often, occasionally my vision is blurry and I’m constantly exhausted even after a 10-12 hour uninterrupted sleep. However I’m not really losing weight, maybe 3-4 pounds from my face and thighs in the past couple weeks.

If you have type 1 diabetes could you tell me if you had all the symptoms or just some prior to be being diagnosed, and if you think my symptoms might be serious? I feel kinda stupid telling people, that I’m assuming something so rash so I want to be sure that I might have it before announcing that I want to go get tested.

Please see your doctor. Diabetes is a manageable disease. And it is a disease that will wreck your body systems if not controlled.

Answer #2

If you are having any symptoms that make you uncomfortable, go see the doctor - that’s what they are there for.

You are displaying some symptoms of diabetes, but it also could be something much less severe - the doctor can identify it for you.

I have type 1 diabetes since I was 9. I started losing weight at 10 pounds a week. at first I was 80 pounds then 55. usually you get cramps like a period. drink a lot of water. pee a lot even wet the bed sometimes. ask your family if any family member had type 1 diabetes.(remeber it s a diese you can only get by genetics.)
