Is it ok for my water tutle to eat its oun poo???

Answer #1

no, but most animals that create a place to live (think like a dog creates a den) want to keep it clean. If you confine a dog to an area it will not defecate in it, unless the dog absolutely has to. It will often then eat the feces in order to keep its living area clean. Crazy stuff I know. You probably need to clean place more often.

Animals that don’t create their own living space (think like monkeys) really don’t understand living in their own fecal matter. Monkeys will paw through it and even toss it around like a toy.

I will assume you actually have a tortoise, instead of a turtle, and I believe that they do create their own living spaces.
