What do I do if the 6 week old puppy I found won't eat?
I found a puppy 4 days ago and he has been to the vets and has been dewormed and is on antibiotics for cyst. He refuses to eat from his bowl but will go there for water. He accepts food and keeps it down when I syringe feed him. I have noticed that after he does a poo a drop of blood comes out after, his poo consistancy has gone from runny and pale 4 days ago to thick blob now and is dark in colour. Does anyone have idea on encouraging him to feed from his bowl as worried about him not eat independently! Concerned puppy owner
Okay I would call the vet and make a time to bring him in.
I would assume its because a 4 day puppy needs to be sucking on its mothers teat for milk it wont be able to eat independently now, not untill its around 6-8 weeks old
Feed less and more often. You might try just feeding him boiled rice for a few days, till his tummy gets settled (but ONLY a few days). If you found him, he may have parvo…it’s hard to tell…but you’ll know soon enough…

Since the puppy is already being treated by a vet, I would call the vet, explain the situation to them and they will tell you if your puppy needs to be seen. They know your puppy’s situation better than we do. The blood, the runny and pale stool are Big Red Flags and can be symptoms of Parvo! Since you found him, he may have it and not getting treatment for it immediately can kill the Puppy. Parvo is a very painful way for the dog to die! I would call your vet NOW!
Bloody stool and not eating really make me think of Parvo, you should talk to your vet about the syptoms and have a parvo test done.
my dog has had like 5 litters of puppies bt 4 days old he/she should be still feeding off its mother so ya continue to feed him/her by syringe bt try to get it to eat from its bowl in mabye a week or two
