Trusting people online?

actually my “best friends” are all online

I guess theres some people you can & others you cant :( Its hard but fu*kk it we gotta move on -_-

Take a look at your own profile picture. Now ask yourself - Who would be interested in me based on a picture where I’m presenting myself in that manner? Probably not the kind of people I should trust.

I’m afraid the ugly fact of this sick world is that if you leave the door open it is the criminals who will enter first. The best way to stay safe in the Internet is to be very careful how you advertise yourself, and be very careful how much personal information you give away.

well I havent learned the hard way because I’ve known all along about the dangers of phedofiles and other horrible people so I never give out any of my important details but unless there friends I’ve met in person or people I actually do know then no, I dont completely trust them

I trust every1 on here. there either a girl which I wudnt be worried about b/c they can perv on me all they want… lol.

but if a guy tries 2 touch me I will bust him up.. im well cabable of handling myself.! and I live in ireland sooo no1 is going 2 bother me.. lol

Possible but not likely…very easy to decieve - fake: name / age / values / intentions, etc…you must be extremely cautious !!

no because on the internet your anonymous so you can be anyone or do anything, but if your playing an online game like Wow or Wc3 they you kind of have to so it depends where your at on the internet

Some yes… some never. You’ve just got to be careful and know when to be smart and get away from someone. Follow your instincts - if something feels wrong, chances are it IS wrong. Be careful and you should be fine.

there’s a lot to be said for perception. You can tell when there is something not quite right about a person, when they’re withholding something. But generally one should exercise caution. Never give out personal details. There may be the odd circumstance where you might like to get to know someone better. There’s ways to be cautious and at the same take things further. We shouldn’t be thinking everyone is out to get you

I’m careful as to what I say online. I don’t give anyone my last name, nor have I told anyone the name of the town I live in. I think eventually I could maybe trust some of the people I talk to on here, but I am extremely cautious.
