Why do people spread rumors online?

I agree wit copa_town_hooligans their immature and they have nothing else to do, and also if its bout a person that is well loved by one particular sex, theyll spread somethin b/c they think its funny to see that particular sex have a heart attack bout it, they love to make it hard on celebs and on everyday people, they enjoy watchin people suffer, they are worthless really, they need a real life a real job and grow up

some people have nothing bettr to do they could have low self esteem themselves, and making other people feel hurt makes them feel better thats why they do it even if its not true, they want the attention pointed at someone else, because it makes them feel better about themselves pay no attention to people like that, dont take anything they say to heart either with time they should learn to grow up

why does anyone start a rumor to begin with? maybe they feel unimportant in life and they do such things, as start rumors online, to make themselves more of a center of attention thing. some people do it out of boredom and wanting something to entertain themselves. yes, there are far greater ways to entertain ones self. we live in an age of technology and electronics. but some people are just small minded and feel they must start a rumor. I don’t agree with rumor monging but it happens.
