Touchy subjects.
My last question cause a huge argument and I recieved over 40 messages in the space of a few days. Some very abusive which tbh, I did not deserve as I wasnt aiming it at anyone in particular. But any way.
Some interesting topics I would like to discuss with you all. I must add. I am not stating my oppinion, I am just giving BOTH sides of the argument.
TOPIC 1 Should people be allowed to immigrate from other countries? Some people are living in poverty all over the world. Earning very little money. Not being able to feed their children. But not being able to feed their children, is it their own fault for having children in the first place? They have bad health And moving to a more developed country can give them the life me and you have. But do they deserve it? Is it “Gods” intensions? Does them lIving in poverty help us? Cheap labour… cheaper products for us to buy Coming to developed countried though gives them a chance to lead a life that everyone deserves really. They can earn a living and raise their children. Improve their health and their quality of life. But doesnt them coming over here mean less jobs for us? Less available homes. Increasing the population. Opinion?
TOPIC 2 Animal testing. Is animal testing wrong or not? Isnt testing on animals preventing us from having bad reaction from products? But is it wrong to take an innocent animal and put it at risk just for the sake of us? They have no voice. They cant say if they enjoy it. Opinion?
TOPIC 3 Teaching sex education to children as young as 5. Right or Wrong? The numbers of teenages getting pregnant has increased dramatically. Some blame a lack of sex education. Correct or not? So should sex education be taught to 5 year olds? They are just kids. Are they ready to hear this kind of thing? Are they emotionally mature enough? But in the Netherlands, they have the lowest rate of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections and they teach sex education to children from 5 years old. Opinion?
Topic 4. Abortion Oooo, risky yeah? But im going to continue. Wrong or right? Taking away an innocent life? Or stoping a 14 year old from loosing their childhood and possibly risking the life of the child they bring into the world? Should abortion be available? Is it okay for a girl who was a victim of rape to abort the baby? Or should she have to live with knowing that her child is the offspring of a desperate evil man? Is it okay to abort the baby in some circumstances and not others. Or should it not be done at all? One the one hand, you will have a beautiful child who you can raise NOT to be like the person who raped you. But having to live with the result of rape can cause emotional stress. Im going to share a story which may help you with your opinion. My mother was raped when she was just 17. She wanted to abort the baby for a number of reasons. She wasnt ready for a child. She didnt have a stable job and had low income. She had no support from her family. And would have to look at her childs face seeing her rapist. Her mother didnt allow her to abort the child and therfore had to raise the child on her own. She had a crappy little council home. Was on benefits which at the time was only around £70 a week. She looked at her daughter every day seeing pure evil. She didnt bond with her at all. And the child knew it. They would get into fights. Both physical and verbal. The child once pushed her mother down the stairs because she was so angry at how she was treated. The child ran away from home at 14 had an affair with a 28 year old married man with 3 children. I had to grow up with my mother and and her child. And let me tell you, it wasnt a pleasant experience. Why is religion causing so many extreme views on abortion? Isnt it up to the person who is pregnant or do we all have to follow god? Or should a person have to keep the baby if it was an accidental pregnancy? Its their own fault right, so they should deal with the consequences. Opinion?
Right, I have written a lot and my hands hurt.
NOTE: Im not sharing my opinion remember, so dont get angry at me. I would just like to know everyones opinion around the world on some subjects that not everyone likes to talk about.

I am a teenage mother, I got pregnant at the age of 15. I am now 16, and the mother of a 4 month old baby girl. Let me start of by saying - I don’t remember anything I learned in Kindergarten, except 2+2. I did recieve sex education in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th grades, and I got pregnant my freshman year. SEX EDUCATION DOES NOT STOP PEOPLE FROM GETTING CAUGHT UP IN THE MOMENT. It’s life.
People judge teenage parents, judged on how SOME of them act after they have had their baby. I take care of my baby. I go to school, I go to work, and I’m a hell of a parent.
The truth is, it doesn’t matter how old you are, or how mature you are, it is your willingness to deal with what you’ve done to yourself.
Sex education really doesn’t prevent anything, I’m walking, beathing proof.

So, abortion is wrong, it is murder. Weather you like to think it or not, it is killing someone. If you believe in god (which I don’t) then you probably go by the whole “everything happens for a reason thing.” well, even if your raped, obviously god meant for something to come of it, more than likely a precious little baby. I wasn’t raped, I was willing, but I was also 15 years old, and didn’t know how in the world I could possibly have a baby and raise it, but I took my chances, and Zola and I are doing great. Like intense said, people don’t realize what it can do to you.
People should be allowed to immigrate yes, although it should be at a controllable level. ie at a level where support can be provided to those immigrating and at a level where they can be assimilated into society successfully. Those that do come should be encouraged to adopt our customs and culture gradually, generation by generation, and to integrate: There should be no such thing as a Pakistani community, or as a Pakistani ghetto as it more often turns out to be here. Culture is important, those that wish to escape poverty or oppression should stick to countries closer to home. I don’t agree with multiculturalism, we should be wary of letting those in with beliefs at odds to our own, it’s an absolute disgrace that we allow in those that believe in honour killing or female circumcision (I saw a video of this on a news programme and it was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen).
Animal testing isn’t just carried out for cosmetic products, it has irrefutably advanced medical science. So I agree with it, although for medical science not to aid the disgusting over consumption of humanity on things that we don’t even need. The tiny minds that so passionately disagree with animal testing should forgo their medical treatment in the future, we’ll see how long their conviction lasts ;)
5 seems young, although it is probably the right age, bearing in mind what is told should be age appropriate, although indeed accurate. The point is that we must treat sex pragmatically. Sex is the most natural and intimate thing that two people can do. The most wonderful in fact. It shouldn’t be regarded as something that is dirty, or something that is sacred. This is one of the reasons I dislike religion so much, their irrational hangups about sex, the legacy of which is an unhealthy sexual repression, the consequences of which are plain to see, such as paedophile catholic priests.
I think abortion is a wonderful thing. Although at a last resort, if we are promoting abortion we have already failed as a society. What I am more in favour of is eugenics, ie the sterilisation of those with poor genes. Now this isn’t going to go down well on this site, but not all people are equal. There are huge variations in terms of intelligence, physical appearance and attractiveness, predisposition to certain genetic diseases, and so on and so forth. What I propose is that those at the lower end of the gene pool shouldn’t be allowed to pass their genes on. As I say this isn’t going to go down well because schools inculcate children with the idea of tolerance and that all people are equal. Nothing could be further from the truth though, as anyone with an ability to open their eyes and to look at the world independently and critically knows. Sorry back to abortion, the reason why we have such a problem with abortion in the UK isn’t solely down to education, in fact our sex education is pretty good by world standards. It’s down to cultural factors too, ie in contrast to the Netherlands we’re not open about sex, we don’t talk about it openly with our parents, we’re embarrassed about it. Plus there’s what Blair called the ‘poverty of aspiration’, many teens get pregnant simply because they have nothing else to expect or to look forward to in later life. These factors need to be addressed in order to reduce abortion and teenage pregnancy rates. Also the debate over whether abortion should be allowed or not, well there isn’t really one in the UK. It’s only in the backwards US, the place of religious fundamentalism and of general religious lunacy, and other primitive places socially, where this is still an issue.
I think we have managed to establish that I am a bigot, but I really don’t care :)
TOPIC 1 - I think needs to be a case by case basis in deciding who gets in and who can’t. But not sure how feesable this would be, as it would be hard to determine who is more ‘important’ than the other. It does worry me when I see more and more immigrants coming into the country I’m in, as they DO take our jobs. But I also don’t believe in trying to shut them all out as it is selfish to an extent. I think that if a country has the means to support them then it is better than if they are coming in unwanted and we struggle to accomadate them. Also with poor people having kids - they don’t often have access to contraception or even knowledge about safe sex. They also can’t afford or access methods of abortion/emergency contraception, so it’s not always their fault. And rape is often common in those places.
TOPIC 2: Animal testing is so outdated and wrong. There are MANY products which don’t test on animals, proving it is not vital to create products. We need to find other means as animals shouldn’t be treated that way.
TOPIC 3: No I don’t think 5 year olds should be taught about sex. They won’t know what sex is at that age and educating them about it when they don’t need to know as they are not sexually active would do far more harm than good.
TOPIC 4: I myself had an abortion after being gang raped by 5 men. I thought at the time that it was the right thing to do. It was the worst experience of my life, almost as bad as the assault itself. I am still haunted by it now, 4 years later. I personally would never ever do it again. I can understand why some women chose to do so. Different people handle things differently. I couldn’t handle it at all and I think a lot of women don’t understand the extent of emotional damage it can cause to you, even years afterwards.
First off people should not be able to immigrate to our country. 2.Drug testing on animals is wrong other testings such as shampoo testing and stuff on animals is not wrong really. 3. Teaching kids sex things at that age is just not right. 4. Abortion is a choice and sometimes it’s the best option but kids that just have sex at an early age need to because they made that mistake but not always and sometimes but they should be able to give the child up if wanted to.
I think people should be allowed to immigrate from other countries as long as everything that it involves is legal.I think animal testing is right to a certain standard, but like getting the fur off of them for clothing I thin is def. wrong! It all depends on what type of testing they are doing on them.I think teaching sex at the young is just plain stupid. Those kids will be sooo confused about it and all they really want to do right now is just play and enjoy being a kid while it lasts, and I say let them enjoy their childhood, because soon they will grow out of it and faster than most think. I also think that they are not mature enough and they should wait until they are in their teenage years to discuss it so they get it a little bit clearly. It think that if you have sex on purpose or “accidentally” than abortion is wrong but if you get raped or worse than yes abortion is right.
Why do people have to be so stupid and have sex at 14 in the first place?aIts their fault. They violated their childhood the minute they had sex(cosensual). So they should face the music
Maybe teach Sex education to 9 or 10 because I mightve just said watever cus I really wouldnt have cared. animal testing is bad because what if you were a cat and they do it to you? id be scared as hell. like being abducted? immagrants are part of america. thats why most of us are here. abortion? I dont think abortion is right. its killing innocent baby and its sort of selfish. if you cant take of it, let someone adopt it.
ya I agree with everything you said. espacially about hte teaching sex at five
