How can I get birth control without telling my mother?

K so, my boyfriend and I talked about being sexually active, but I’m not on any type of birth control, and I want to be, but does this mean I have to tell my mom I’m sexually active, I’m seventeen and that’s a touchy subject with her. I mean she’d be proud that I want to be safe, but she’d never let me out of her sight if I told her haha! I will always use a condom, but there is always the percaution that if the condom breaks, … I don’t want to be that girl who surprises her mom with an “I’m pregnant” help please, how much is it, where can I get it, and do I have to tell her???

Just tell your mom you want on birth control so you can stop getting so many periods, and say that your cramps hurt, and you would like it if you could have less periods. I know some parents don’t want to believe that, but if you tell her that you aren’t doing it for sex, then she might and might not believe you, but dont bring up “I aint doing it for sex” until she says something like “Are you thinking about sex” or something in that nature. Just tell her you would like to have less periods. Hope this helps.

You can get the pill for free at Planned Parenthood (if you are in USA) or else any government clinic.

Some universities also gives the pill to their students. So you do not HAVE to tell your mother.

Good for you for being responsible. And good luck.
