Can a one time strenuous activity cause CTS?

See, I was helping our family push our deck to the house. My dad is building the deck himself, and he needs all the help he can get. So we went out there to push a 34X15 deck closer to the house. I pushed and bent my wrists pretty far back, but it didn’t hurt at the time. The next day around the evening it started hurting along my index finger bone near my thumb. Now today, it hurts in both hands in my wrists. I The pain I mentioned isn’t severe, but it does bother me. I know the symptoms for CTS include tingling and numbness, but I don’t think I have those. Also, my forearms and upper arms hurt occasionally. I’m 14, but could I possibly have carpal tunnel?

The Most Common Cause of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a “muscle imbalance “ in the hand and forearm due to overuse. Other causes include direct trauma, diabetes, gout, rheumatoid arthritis and other systemic disorders.

Repetitive and/or static (non-moving) wrist and finger flexion against resistance causes the flexor muscles which ‘close’ the hand to develop more strength than the wrist and finger extensor muscles that ‘open’ the hand. This quickly leads to a “muscle imbalance” of the wrist and hand due to the lack of activities that require direct stimulation of the extensor muscles. (i.e. People do not open doors or hold onto the steering wheel of a car with the backs of the hands.)
