Could my under active thyroid and anemia be causing this?

im 15 ( I started my periods when I was 11) I am 3 months late and defo not pregnant. I’ve been having very painful cramps in my abdomen and lower back, I’ve seen a doctor and obv the first thing he askd was ‘are you pregnant’, when I told him I wasnt ( im a virgin ) he laughed and said ‘ye a lot of teenage girls say that but they are.’ so now im really confused that I cant even talk to my doctor about this. I have an under active thyroid and anemia so could they cause these problems? also I’ve been through a lot of depression and stress this past year. I just need answers lol im worried sick that I could have something serious thnks xxx

Answer #2

Your doctor should know better…he’s not being very professional or empathetic to your situation.

Yes, depression, stress, anemia - all those things can delay a period…try to find a way to relax and get yourself an iron supplement or improve your diet.
