The router piece to the internet.

I don’t know…but…uuummm… I’m suppose to be getting a mini-sized laptop soon…and…I’m not sure how to do the router piece thing for the internet…like how does it work??? Like…do I have to play around with the piece to make it light up or something???

A router is a wireless radio that sends out “the internet” on the radio waves. A wireless receiver/adapter is usually built into laptops nowadays (but you can buy external ones) but it is also a radio that communicates with the router by sending out requests to “the internet” so that you can get stuff from the web. All you have to do to hook up a router is follow the directions that come with it. Make sure you have an adapter for your laptop which is wireless B, G or N. and routers and wireless adapters usually work with B/G wireless routers and adapters but not vice versa. Just try to get a wireless G router and a wireless B/G or just G adapter and you should be good. :-). Going in order of best to worst performance it goes N, G, B. Just try to get a G because they are all you’ll need really and they’re relatively cheap.
