Talking hiatus:the final part

Me and my mom just got out the BIGGEST argument in our life,it was mainly about her accepting me as a Goth,she says it’s a Satan Worshiper,I have told her constantly that it’s not every time. I even yelled at her about supporting me in things I believe in,I lost my voice over it. Should I just completely shut up until I’m 18 cause I hate going through the same old sh*t with her and this family.

Well. If I were you, I would gather a lot of info about the Goth culture, and explain to her that it’s a state of mind or how you dress. Say that you are your own person, and this is that path that you took, and you feel happy about it. It won’t change your attitude, just the way you dress.

There is a lot of hypocrits out there that think Goth worship Satan, but you can be a heavy Christian and be Goth. I think I heard that the term ‘Goth’ is really about how you dress. I mean, Goth people really stand out, and they don’t want to be like everyone else.

I’m with your mother - I don’t think it’s a positive influence at all - I too would be hurt and disappointed - reflects your attitude and your lack of respect (yelling) at her - all I can say is sometimes you as a parent wonder why you even bother to CARE - obviously she’s on to something, the rest of the family agrees - maybe consider others views, and look in the mirror, see what they see inside and out ?…hope you’ll make good choices in life in the future !!
