How can I reasonably talk to my mother?

I recently got into a fight with my mother & things have boiled over. She started yelling at me over the fact that I lied to her about where I was going & had some car trouble. See, my mother doesn’t know how to talk to people. She knows how to yell & put down someone. So when we sat down to talk I finally got the nerve to talk back to her & what does she do? She tries to hit me. In the face. I try to grab on to her arms while I’m yelling at her to stop hitting me. So she gets up & first thing I do is run to our backyard, not before telling her that I’ve known about her affair. & how dare she talk bad about my father when she’s doing the same thing. She tried to hit me again & this time I just run to my friends house. Basically now I’m back home because my dad asked me too & I don’t know what to do or say to my mom. I need help. I don’t know what to do.

I used to be scared of my dad scared of answering back. I think the best way is to wait till she is calm and ask her if you can sort this out if she goes to hit you then go in your room or speak to your dad. hope it goes alright for u
