Stress help, religous ideas?

So I know I get stressed pretty easy…friends, if things arent on schedule, and just life things I guess. And I just get all this stress built up and I try to breathe and calm down or lisen to music but sometimes that doesnt work. So I was just wondering if yall had any ideas for me, oh and my aunt is a buddist and she does yoga and that kinda stuff as well and she has some religous ways of gettin rid of stress. So any ideas let me know. Thank you so much.

Yoga is very good for clearing up stress - as it helps relax the muscles of the body, it does the same to the mind. Running is what I like to do when stressed, for the sense of freedom it gives and all.. But religious ways of relaxation? Meditation without a doubt, though its’ more spiritual than religious. Simply sit in peace and quiet (alone!) and attempt to stop focusing on any thought or image that appears in your mind - dismiss all problems that are your immediate cause of stress, and then all the little things. I imagine clouds passing overhead whenever I’m trying this. After a while, you won’t need this imagined aid and will find there are no more thought interruptions, as if part of you has been switched off for a while. I’ve stayed in that state for 4 hours once, but even a 10 minute session works wonders on stress! When you regain proper ‘consciousness’ again, you should feel much more relaxed, and although any stress factors themselves will not (and shouldn’t) have decreased in importance, you’ll feel a lot more capable in dealing with them, one at a time ^_^

Yoga is an eastern exercise…tho it’s used to prepare for meditaion, it can be used simply for relaxation…and it does work!!!

There are many ways of relieving stress.

If you are a Christian, you can rebuke the spirit of stress, in the name of Jesus.

You can help yourself, by recognizing it, when it first appears, start rebuking it, in your mind, or under your breath.

Make yourself relax.

Read something that will take your mind off the stress that is trying to gain your attention.

A very good book, written by Joyce Meyers, called Be Anxious for Nothing, can be obtained, that will help tremendously. Amazon.com probably has some used copies available.

When I was battling stress, or if it tries to slip up on me now, I would pick up that book, and read, and pretty soon, stress was underneath my feet, where it should be.

Prayer from believers, also helps.

For me, I go to my horse that God gave me as a gift last year, and that always calms me down. We can always go to our loved ones or to material things,or other physical activities but the ultimate and most satisfying stress reliever is the Lord. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”

When I’m feeling stressed, I usually call up one of my friends and just talk and usually they can make me laugh. My Mom always knows how to make me laugh too. Or sometimes I go for a bike ride or shoot hoops for a while, that makes me feel better too. As for religious ways of dealing with stress, well, personally, I’m a Christian, so sometimes I just say a few prayers, or ask someone else to pray for me. I also go to church almost every week, and it’s very peaceful and nice to be in that atmosphere and that community for a while. GOOD LUCK!

Meditate! Try differant ways to meditate. Get a book or look it up.
