Is there a specific way to become a Wiccan?

Ok, so I’ve done so much research into Wicca online, and I’m going to the Library sometime soon, and I’ll look for some books there. My brother is a Wiccan, I haven’t seen him in a while, but he said that the next time he sees me, he will take me to a witchcraft store and he will teach me everything he knows and supply me with everything he can. But, my question is, will I be a Wiccan? Like, is there a certain procedure that has to be done? I’ve looked online and most answers are sort of blunt. and another question, I’ve tried to do two or three spells, and they didnt work. Why didn’t they work? Is it because I’m not technically a Wiccan? Or because I didn’t do them right?

There is no proper or exact way to become “Wiccan”. I think its something you feel in your heart and just know. Many Wiccans do a self dedication to make it “formal”.

no i mean maybe they didnt work cos you didnt do it right, my sis is a wiccan her spells dont work sometimes, u just have to beleive in the religion and that proves your a membor if it, not material items

well to answer one of your questions you dont have to be a wiccan to cast spells so it wouldnt have mattered if you are a wiccan or not. there are many reasons they didnt work. Also, wicca is a religion, so be sure you have done your research before calling yourself one. Usually wiccans do a dedication ceremony, and usually spend a year and a day studying wicca (the witchcraft AND the belief system) then do initiation. But if you are not a member of a coven, its really all up to you.

Im wiccan and i had to learn it all on my own so if you have any questions about the religion, research sources that are good and those that have false info, where to find answers etc feel free to funmail me

I have been reading tons of forums online today. I want to be a Wiccan too :) I ready that you just need to begin the practice. Then after i think it was a year you can do some dedication spell and then you are a wiccan. But if you feel its the right path for you then you are one.

Spells won’t work all the time. There is a Wiccan concept that everything happens for a reason. If they didn’t work then maybe the purpose of the spell wasn’t meant to happen. Practice makes perfect! Maybe some more experience will help. And you have to believe that they will work. If your mind percieves the spell are fake then they will come to be so.

And you can do a certain dedication or ‘baptism’ is you will to say that ‘I am Wiccan’ but there is no way to ‘become’ Wiccan.

Sometimes people want to have a formal, official orientation, otherwise known as a commitment or dedication. But some people don’t. You could simply start practicing. I have a really good link with great info on wicca:

Wiccan is a religion founded by Gerald Gardner about 60 years ago give or take. Wiccans usually will study a year and a day before officially taking the title You don’t have to be Wiccan to cast spells There are more types of practitioners than just the Wiccans, such as your witches, mystics, sage, shaman, scourers, etc Something probably wasn’t done quite right If you would like more information or have any questions, I’m a practitioner of 9 years, feel free to funmail me Or even giai3 up there ^
