Does getting spacers/braces hurt?

Um I know getting all 4 bicupids out are going to hurt like crap, but getting spacers and braces? How much is that going to hurt. anyone with that experience tell me what would make it feel better after and what it feels like.

Spacers feel like you have giant pieces of popcorn stuck between your teeth. It gets uncomfortable and makes your teeth sore. Braces, on the other hand, doesnt really hurt. Around the first 3 days they are REALLY sore but it’ll all get better in a short period.

Spacers, not gonna lie, hurt. Braces hurt for a while too. Good luck :D :D :D

Answer #3

I was in 4th grade when I got mine and I don’t remember any pain, I remember a little bit of discomfort and pulling but that’s it, nothing that hurt me. It will feel tight and abnormal for the first little while but you’ll be okay.

Answer #5

my teeth were really bad before braces, so getting them hurt like crap, and then I was fine. I just hated getting them readjusted. you get used to them, but then it feels SO wierd getting them off :) lol. so, it MAY hurt, but it’ll be fine.

Answer #6

I got braces near the beginning of July. If you take some Advil before you go you’ll be fine. Mine only hurt a little because I didn’t take Advil because I cannot swallow pills. lol. And spacers don’t hurt at all. I even forgot I had them. And when you go to get them tightened it’s really easy. it takes about 7 minutes. So don’t be afraid because it doesn’t hurt and you’ll get used to them easily :) you can ask me anything about braces :]

Answer #7

braces hurt, when you get them for like the first 2 days then not so much until they change the colored rubber bands and tighten the braces then they hurt for about a day, you will get used to it tho

Answer #8

they really dont hurt its more like soreness and sensitivity but if you take some pain medication you should be fine an just eat soft things for a few days but everyone is different and you do get used to it they arent that bad plus they make your teeth pretty and straight :D

Answer #9

spacers hurt more than the braces your mouth is really really sore with spacers and its hard to chew so it soft foods like yogurt or soup. and take like 2 advil before you go get them. good luck:)
