Does it sound like I have cysts on my ovaries? (read more)

I did a little research… ive always had lower abdominal pain… it comes and goes. My periods are super irregular. I never know when im going to get my period… so when i got the pain today i decided to look it up, it gave me symptoms that i basically have.. its said stuff about ovulation and the egg will get stuck and a cysts forms. So an example: if i got two periods a month but the first time i got cysts then the other time it would be a period.. wouldnt that make sense for irregular periods??

Are you talking about ovarian cysts or polycystic ovarian syndrome? Abdominal pain and irregular periods are both common with ovarian cysts, but these symptons occur for a number of reasons and only an ultrasound will tell you if this is the case. Based on what you have said, I have no idea whether you have polycystic ovarian sydrome. One symptom is irregular periods, but that in itself isnt enough. To be classified as PCOS, you have to have two of the following three symptoms (funnily enough, you dont actually have to have cysts on your ovaries): high androgen levels or activity (includes thinkg like excessive facial hair) ovarian cysts and absent or irregular periods.

Basically you will need to talk to your doctor and probably get an ultrasound.

You should see a Gyno.
