Does soaking your piercing in warm water with sea salt make it heal faster?

Answer #1

I think so but if you have a sore throat that helps too

Answer #2

Iv heard that but iv never bothered to try it. I doubt it tbh.

Answer #3

I think so, I used warm water with seasalt on my 3 ear piercings and they didn’t get infected and I took them out before the 6 week healing period. If I was you I would try the water with seasalt and see how the piercing is after a week.

Answer #4

Nothing makes a piercing heal faster. Thy heal at their own paces, but salt water soaks are good for them.

Answer #5

You need to “flush” it with warm water & sea salt solution as a cleanser. It does not help it heal faster. :) also becarful because it can actually dry the piercing out and make it longer to heal. :) Knowledge from a piercer of 6years :)

Answer #6

The sea salt and water is meant as an extra cleaning agent. When I got my corset piercing the guy told me to do so once a week and wash it everyday with Dr.Bronners Miracle Soap and it truly worked wonders no problems what so ever. Also he did other piercings of mine and the same thing worked. So you can try its not a MUST in the piercing world. Also if your piercing gets infected the salt draws the infection out of the area and into the cup. Its really cool actually. :-D

Answer #7

Sea salt soaks are great for piercings, especially for those prone to hypertrophic scarring. It won’t make it heal faster than the spray but it’s different for everyone. Just mix a quarter of a teaspoon of sea salt with a cup of warm water and soak for five minutes every day or two.
