when doing the sign of the cross with the name of the father the son and the holy spirit i should kiss it at the end?

Answer #1

is it for an actual prayer? or is it for entertainment purposes? if it is for an actual prayer then most people dont do a kiss at the end, i have never seen it in dont in a church either (im catholic). if it is for entertainment purposes (such as a non religious film or music video or something similar to those) then it would depend on the scene and script at the time

Answer #2

That’s usually how it’s done. It’s up to you, it’s you’re prayer.

Answer #3

no its for a prayer i was raised doin the name of the father the son and the holy sprite then kissing the cross (the cross you form with your fingers by the way)

Answer #4

no its for a prayer i was raised doin the name of the father the son and the holy sprite then kissing the cross (the cross you form with your fingers by the way

Answer #5

so in other words its the same thing righty?

Answer #6

its mainly latino’s who do the kiss thing at the end, i have never seen it done in any church or by anyone else but latino’s unless it was in a film or for any entertainment purpose

Answer #7

well i am by the way and should i be on by knees while praying or it doesnt matter it just feels weird standing for some reason cause in church they would put some thing down for your knees after recieving communion

Answer #8

well if you were raised that way then keep going, dont see the point in changing it, i know a few different ways of starting a prayer,. my mother is very religious (im not so religious) and she has always said to me as long as you say the correct words and the 4ends of the cross then it doesnt matter if you do anything else those are the most important parts. so yea i guess the kiss part is your choice weather you do it or not. like i said mate, if thats how you were bought up to do it then why change, but just do it how you want

Answer #9

ahh right well, yea most latino’s pray on their knees with a crucifix in hand, say the words and do the 4ends of the cross, then kiss it at the end. im not sure how strict your race see’s it if you change the way you pray but if they are not that strict then do it how you want, if they are strict however then it would be best to keep it the way you learnt it

Answer #10

either way to me a prayer is a prayer as long as you say the words and do the 4 ends of the cross. anything else is your choice.. but different races are more strict than others

Answer #11

thank you for your help just to be sure im 99percent sure of this already but you start with your left shoulder when doing the cross right?

Answer #12

yep, with your right hand it goes..head, chest, left shoulder, right shoulder. :-)
