Answer #1

Do what YOU want not your parents. Go to uni and have a good time there and don’t let your parents bring you down!!! Since your seventeen you could just move out and live with one of your friends or something.

Answer #2

Get emancipated. Go to court and try to do it when you and you’re father aren’t near enough and by the time he knows It will be too late. You will then be in the process for becoming an adult.

I hear you I am so sorry.

Answer #3

You are so used to having money when you need it, that if you ran away you would be back at your daddy’s feet within a week, just try to persuade him otherwise, and tell him “The day I turn 18 I will be gone and you will never see me again, you cant control an adult, Dad.” then see if he still wants you pawned off.

I realy dont want to get married.m stil 17 4 heavens sake!!!

Answer #5

If you run away he’ll cut your funds. Here’s a thought, even if you marry, maybe the betrothed won’t mind if you go to school? Or maybe cut a deal with dad. You’ll marry if he lets you go to school. What’s Mom say? you need some allies. You need to talk it out with your parents. Say a stupid girl is no asset to anyone. Say there will be no grandchildren! It’s too bad you have to deal with this but I am poor so nobody really cares who you marry. good luck. you can always do cyber school.

Answer #6

yeah. do what you want. best way ;)

Answer #7

take some money and go!! get a part time job over there and earn your keep!!! go 4 it!!!

Answer #8

What is your scholarship for? Because if your dad is as rich as you say then you couldn’t get a financial scholarship.

If you run away you will not only lose your family but also a way of supporting yourself. As hard as it is when you rely on someone else to pay your way you need to do things the way they want. If you went to college without your parents support how would you support yourself? When you get a scholarship you do know that they will not pay for everything for you, right? How would you eat? You need to think of all your options, talk to your parents (talk I said, don’t get upset because if you do then they won’t even listen to you). Try to remember that if you decide to do something against their wishes then you will have to support yourself…are you ready to do that? Can you do that?

My marriage to my first husband was arranged,…I had no say in it..But this is old school mexican traditions. I stayed with my husband 12yrs and one day I left!! I was sick and tired of living for my mom and dads happiness. I wanted to be happy. I was 16yrs old when I was married off…I did get a beautiful son out of it and I recently signed divorce papers after a 6yr seperation. My x-husband and I have always got alone,. we just weren’t in love ,,we even started sleeping in seperate rooms once I had my son. (I got preganat the first month I was his wife,Go figure..UH!). If you don’t care about money then go live YOUR LIFE for you not your families. Something I failed to mention…Get ready to be disowned…My mom & dad haven’t talked to me in 7yrs. It hurts at first but it gets easier, you will find yourself crying at times but it’s their lost. Good luck, Sweetie…My prayers are with you..
