Okay I'm thinking about joining the Marines. I am already in MCJROTC which is Marine Cadets in school. I am a junior so I still have time to decide. My dad said the Marines are tough on women and I should choose air force or army or better yet college. I was never a school person and I want to travel. What should I do?
Talking to people who have served in all branches people who were in the Air Force seem to have the highest opinion of their branch.
Thinking of your future you should ask yourself what you want out of your military service and then check to see which branch can do the best for you. Of course joining any branch is service for your country but there is nothing wrong with also looking after your own interests.
When I was in high school I spent some time trying to get into the Air Force Academy but when I learned that my eyesight was not good enough to be a pilot I decided that I'd rather skip military service all together.
I'd suggest the Air Force instead. The Air Force offers more job type opportunities and more travel opportunities. Plus you fly everywhere.
No matter which you join, make sure you take advantage of educational opportunities while in service so that you may have a head start when you get out.
Simply a Rose to brighten your day, And maybe lessen the cares in your way; And also, too, to help you to know, That in knowing you, many others grow!
Follow your heart and don't listen to anyone who tells you different.
I was told I should never be a chef - it's too gruelling, I'll never be able to handle it, etc. I'm a damned good chef if I do say so myself :)
Good luck to you!
Marines is worst out of all the military and the first to go out to war.And they training will b really hard. Baby I suggest you take up anything else except marines.Maybe the army will b good for you and you can still travel.
If you want a better education and a job you should go into the army or air force, better pay and such.
If you want to join the marines, go for it. Like Ichi said, "Follow your heart" :)
Go with your heart. The marines are just as tough on men as women. Men and women will probably have problems with the traing at first. But, when you get used to it, you'll do great!
