Shirts irritate my new tattoo

My tat is 3 days old and my clothes feel scratchy and bother me when they touch the tattoo. is it hurting the tat to have my clothes on it? I try to wear lower back shirts but im running out of clothes

you’re also not supposed to ever rebandage a new tattoo. as nicksgurl said, yoru tattoo is basically an open wound. it’s needs to breath. if you keep it suffocated by saran wrap or a bandage or whatever it’s not going to heal the same. I just got a new lower back tattoo (which is also 3 days old) and I also find that clothes irritate it a little when I’m at work. I change into a baggy shirt when I get home and I find it really helps.

actually the girl who does my tattoos did it and it heals in half the time…you don’t leave it on for long periods of time…and you change it twice a day it actually does work mine healed in half the time than it would usually and my tattoo looks really good I spent over a $1000 on it and I would not wanna do anything to it that would harm it. it keeps the clothes from rubbing no your tattoo which it seems to be doing so that the healing skin remains there and does not come off because your tattoo is scabbing in it’s healing process. and I meant medical tape to hold down the edges. thanks :]

Answer #3

maybe you could wear a baggy tshirt , that might keep it away a little. or put a bandage on top of it.

Answer #4

hmm that is odd, I guess I’m lucky, I barely noticed mine after a day, I had a bandage on it for a while though…

Answer #5

wow NO SARAN WRAP IT HOLDS DIRT IN AND IT GETS HOT WHICH CAN IRRTATE IT MORE AND IT GETS INFECTED ITS AN OPEN CUT ITS SUPOSE TO BREATH…YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD IT FOR THREE DAYS you DONT HAVE MUCH LONGER..I HAVE 4 TATTS GOOD LUCK

Answer #6

you could always put saran wrap over the tattoo and hold down the edges for the saran wrap to stick…then wear a t-shirt. this actually speeds up the healing process I had to do it before I went on spring break. hope this helps :]

Answer #7

Putting A and D ointment on it will help it heal too.
