Why is my school taking out homeroom?

we only have homeroom one day a week now starting today. and the rest we have no homeroom, it should be illegal!

Meaby they want some more time for learning, since homeroom is just something like to catch up and hear news and stuff. We only have 2 homeroom periods a week. It’s not something you NEED, so they are replacing it with something you do need.

I didn’t have homeroom at all in high school. Our first class of the day was our “homeroom”, so if we needed to hand something in to a homerooom teacher we’d give it to our first period class teacher, and often the teacher would change during the year.

What, exactly, do you need homeroom for? To waste time shuffling from one pointless classroom to your actual class? Many schools have done away with homeroom - there’s no reason for it.

Well, Mainly To do homework, talk, and see friends mainly. i mean now that you actually made that point to me, i really don’t know why we have homeroom.
