Satanism questions?

You are taking things way to literally - he does not mean destroy or harm anyone.

He says over and over again in the book that he we should not harm anyone against their will.

By destroy he means - get them away from you and find your peace.

Please keep your religious comments to yourself - they were not asked for in this post.

I dont think satanism is all bad, but tell me what is good about it ? what persuaded you into it ? in which way is it better than other religions and what is the point or idea of it ? thanks

Why are we getting so many Satanic Bible questions lately?

It should not be a difficult book to find, but satanism as LaVey describes it is not so much a religion as a philosophy which encourages (in an extremely small nutshell) living for one’s self and not for a dogma. It is not a bible in the Judeo/Christian sense but more a collection of essays outlining Anton LeVey’s ideology.

if I understand it right, LaVeyan satanists don’t actually worship the devil. they don’t, in particular, believe in one devil, or a supreme god. it’s more of a “you are your own god” sort of thing. I think. there are satanists that, as the name says, worship the devil. they believe in god and the devil, and made their choice with the devil. I don’t know how many other sects there are though. if you can’t find a copy of the satanic bible at a bookstore, you should be able to find an ebook copy of it.

assalamu_aleykum,I am not a satanist,I am a celtic wiccan.I study other religions,worldveiws and ideaologies as part of my religious training.I am friends with a guy who’s a satanist and I simply wanted to know more about the satanism religion because I have yet to study it.I have no intentions of coverting from wicca.=]

Sourcing an anti-satanism web site as reference isn’t really the kind of research I encourage, but I guess points should be given for trying. But it’s kind of akin to someone asking for help about homosexuality and referencing godhatesfags.org.

Even assuming your story is true, simply because someone has trouble practicing what they preach does not mean that what they preach has no merit. I think you would agree that not harming animals is a decent ideal, whatever problems LaVey had.

I agree with mikeh on this one,nobody follows their religion straight and narrow but just because they don’t always practice what they preach doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t at least her em out.

and I think anybody with a logical,functioning mind would know that harming animals,or any creature on this earth for that matter is wrong. ‘and it harm none,do what ye will’ wiccan or not,it’s a good rede to live by.

However Maddie, your claim Satan could turn to the lord is false. Assuming they are real. Your God has set forth satan’s future and since he is “Never wrong” than Satan has no choice.

I don’t know a lot about Satanism. But I do plain to look into it.

Anton LaVey is the author of the satanic bible. It is not direct devil worship but indirect by encouraging sins if it makes the person happy. The reason Christians call it devil worship is because everything that is not of the true God is in fact from the devil. We believe that the devil’s goals is to lead the people astray from God so he would create many different religions to confuse. That is his number one priority so if he has to create a religion that is seemingly good it is in fact an abomination.

1st. None of that is fact. God and devil are not fact and sin is not fact

2nd this is part of that circular reasoning

The reason Christians call it devil worship is because everything that is not of the true God is in fact from the devil.

Given the overwhelming presence of “evil” in the world, it seems your concept of Satan is at least as powerful as God, perhaps even more powerful. How can you reconcile that with an omnipotent and omnibenevolent being?

satanists don’t exactly worship satan dear.I do not worship satan.I just wanted to know more about the religion.I am wiccan,I pay homage to gaia and the great all.

I went to church from the time I was born till I was 13 years old,I have studied the bible numerous times.theyr’e is simply too many loopholes,unanswered questions and etc. in there that allow me to deduce that I simply cannot see a ‘god’ of love allowing to happen to his people.

and I absolutley love,and I and other can see this through history [especially the burning times aka the witch trials,which was a very painful time for witches and humans alike] that anytime someone comes along with a different line of thinking or living,the protestants or the christians will be the first to jump in their face spitting verses and bible-belting nonsense..tis sad.
