Is anyone on funadvice a member of Anton le vay's church of satan?

I am not a Satanist, I am Pagan. But when I go to bookstores I look in the metaphysical/new age section and there are books about Satanism next to them. ((They are totally NOT related FYI to people that don’t know)). But I still think it is interesting to learn about other people’s view points. In my oppinion, it shouldn’t be called Satanism because you aren’t really worshipping Satan. It should be called “Meism” because you are celebrating yourselve as a “god/goddess” and that as long as you are happy, you should do what you want. Live life to the fullest with no regrets. Thats basically what it is. There is a lot more to it, but thats what I got from it lol.

I’m not a member but I do follow the belief. It’s true that Satanism isn’t based on dark/evil biblical rituals. The word Satan means both accuser and adversary, adversary is the main reason the word Satan is in the religion’s name, because Satanism is the opposite of most religions, makeing it their adversary. Satanism is like Atheism only in the belief that there is no god or gods.Satanism is a religion used for self-development and to elevate ones self above others. Satanism isn’t about challanging others beliefs, yet Satanists can do that if they so choose.

shawna is correct in all she says but I would like to add that we don’t embrace biblical sins so much as believe that they are natural and should be used as any individual sees fit.

Atheist, if you would have actually read my post or read about the Church of Satan, you’d know they don’t believe in Satan as an actual figure, but more of a state of mind. It’s hard to explain, but do your research.

Well, you would get bias views if only people from anton le vays church of Satan… obviously… and its people’s choice if they answer or not. You can’t tell them if they can or can’t.

Well I want people to know I don’t want to be shouted at by somone telling me and everyone who is involved or intrested that they are evil and going to hell because they are invovled ith biblical satanic rituals which has happned before

I am looking for opinions based on that group of people not other groups I don’t care what somone thinks unless they have experience or knowlage I am looking for a straight ansew

From what I know about the Church of Satan (not a member, I just study many religions, and know a lot of great people who are members). Members don’t believe in an actual being as Satan, like the Bible says. They view Satan as more of a force of nature or image, most don’t believe in the biblical version of him. From what I’m told, they don’t believe in a “god” or higher being, and they think that everyone is fully responsible for what direction their life takes, not a higher being.

It is true that the because views stupidity as one of their nine “sins”. They believe in self gratification and embracing biblical sins.

I hope that answers at least some of your questions, & I’m not going to guarantee all of those are right, that’s just what I’ve been told.
