Rescue center 3

Im thinking of getting a rescue dog. I went to visit the dogs trust center today and saw at least 3 dogs that I liked. The problem is that the dogs were either barking or shying in a corner. How do I know what dog is right for me? The staff made us fill in a form about our life but didnt offer any suggestions? :S How will I know that the dog I chose is the right one?

A lot of times the behavior you see in a shelter is not how the animal will be at home. They are scared and shy because their lives are constantly changing. When you get the dog home, there is a huge chance it could open up and be the loving animal you want. Go visit the dog a few times…see if it warms up as it gets familiar with you.

Dogs are very loyal pets, nearly every dogs goal is to please its owner. They love to be trained because they are naturally followers from years of domestication. In the spirit of rescue though I would say go for the shy ones, the reason they are shy is because they probably never had an ounce of affection in their life. The shy ones probably need love the most.
