Is there anything I can do to help relieve the pressure from my baby "dropping" during these last weeks?

I only have 2 1/2 weeks left during this pregnancy and the past couple of days my daughter has begun to drop and get into place in the birth canal. It literally feels like someone has punched me in the top of my v@gina its so sore. I know its one of those things you kind of just have to deal with ultimatly…but is there any certain sitting positions, stretches, or anything that might help me be a bit more comfortable.

i think you should check with your doctor and you might b in a position 2 go 2 the hospital

If only i could just lay in bed lol. I have a very active 2 year old that im home with all day by myself though. Racheal - no, its not time yet. No contractions, my water hasnt broken, its just a normal part of the last few weeks. Your baby drops and gets into place to get ready…its just uncomfortable. Thanks for the suggestions though ladies.

I’m not a doctor and I’ve never had a baby but my cousin liked bubble baths and a heating pad helped her during her third trimester with the baby

You’re right mandyloo, It’s just uncomfortable. Unfortunately it’s one of those pains you have to endure. I used to put cushions behind my back at night and sleep in a half sitting position. Sitting with your feet up also helps.

I’ve heard of getting down on all fours and wiggling your hips works really well to relieve some of the pain and/or pressure. So, I would give that a try.

Other than that, I would say just keep changing positions, and exercise gently. I don’t think there is a specific position to sit or lay that will ease the pain and/or pressure, you just have to keep moving around.

They have “belly bands” available that you can strap around your waist for extra support. if you have access to an indoor pool that’s a really nice way to relieve pressure too somewimes. Baths help me alot. I have 17 weeks to go and I’m not looking forward to those last two months!

Good luck to all you moms to be!! And like I always tell women” Enjoy the pregnancy” cause after the baby comes, that a whole other issue to worry about. I used to literally look at my tummy and say “hurry up and get out!”..lol. What you are going through is such a beautiful thing. Enjoy it, all of it, the joys and discomforts are memories you’ll keep forever

Answer #10

I Know What That’s Like,, Hot Shower.. Lie With Feet Up.. Pillow Under Back

Answer #11

my wife used to just sit up straight on an exercise ball. also, if you stand up straight, then bend over, and have someone stand behind you and squeeze your hips together….it sounds dirty, but it helped my wife A LOT. you can try those. good luck.
