Is my recovered ankle going to be this stiff permanently?

So I broke the two sides of my ankle and I got surgery two weeks ago. I can’t put any weight on it but although I can still manage to walk on it without putting weight by walking with a limp and when I feel it or move it when I take my splint off, it’s very stiff and I can hardly even move it, I don’t even think I’ll be able to even walk on it. Will my ankle be like this permantly or with 6 weeks wearing the splint & boot, will I be able to walk normal as I did before?

You’d better ask your doc. If the surgery is only 2 weeks ago, it will definitely get better than it is now. Broken bones need 4 to 6 weeks to heal. And the muscle and fibers will need to recover as well. They will probably show you to do some gymnastics for that ankle on your later check-ups. You should do those.

Are you doing physiotherapy? Physio after injury helps you along the way of recovery. I have injured my feet many many times… and yes, I can walk normally, and it’s because they helped me. I do believe with every person it’s different. Though one thing is for sure with everyone, when the pressure changed in the weather, you’ll feel it in your ankle, but that’s really not that bad. Sorry you broke your ankle
