Recording A Demo Song?

I’ve recently decided to record a demo song and have it sent to a recording company. My problem is I keep trying to find somewhere that I can get my recording done at, like where I go into the studio and record myself singing the song, and the background music is made by a band. But everywhere they just say that I can send in my lyrics and/or beat and for $200 they’ll have someone else sing it for me.

Um, no thank you. I want to sing my own songs.

What do I do? Where can I go to get this done? Seriously, I need help.

ok you dont need to go to a studio I have a home studio that sounds great. My studio is pretty big but if your just startingget a m-audio or line 6 usb interface and they come with editing software but if they dont go with audacity its a free internet download that I use sometimes for live stuff.
