Recording a Song

Can anyone answer this… Today I went to a recording studio to record a song I wrote. We hired a piano player to do the tracks. I have written the lyrics and the tune to the song. He worked with me and then told me since he had to compose the song and do all the cords he wanted me to sign a work for hire contract that gives him 25-30 % of the profits should the song make any money. Is this correct?
