How would you react if your secrets were revealed to your family?

My friend doesn’t know any way to let out her feelings so she writes out most of stuff, unless we’re at school and she can talk to me.

Well she keeps little journals throughout her room in her house I guess and somehow one of her family members found one and decided to read it out loud to her brothers, aunt, mom, and others.

Now she’s flipping out, because literally EVERYTHING was in there.

My problem is I think she’s blowing this way out of proportion. I mean yeah I’d get being embarrassed etc, but so what. Why dwell on this,it’s not like…I can’t explain it. I would yeah feel embarrassed but I would get over. Life’s too short to dwell or small things. Plus you’re leaving more than likely in a couple years so what’s the problem, it’s not like they’re gonna taught you about it till you’re gone. :/ idk

I think she’s right to get angry and embarrassed because not only did her family member read her diary, they read it OUT LOUD to EVERYONE. That’s not okay. It may not seem like a big deal to you because it’s not your secrets and you don’t care about her family’s opinions, but she does. I think you should be sensitive to her feelings and let her vent but also reassure her that, like you said, it’s not the end of the world.
