question about muscles on a science assignment

okay so I have a science assignment but the question on it has nothing to do with science? hahaha so I cannot find the answer anywhere, it is : why might your muscles feel sore after a heavy workout?

if anyone knows this answer you should definetly tell me! hahaa

Answer #1

Your muscles have been pulling and contracting more than it usually does,

Answer #2

24 hours to 48 hours after a hard workout, most people begin to experience soreness in the body parts trained. This is called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, or DOMS. DOMS is caused by tiny microscopic tears that occur in the muscle as a result of high intensity exercise (such as weight training, intense cycling, etc). After the workout, the muscle begins to rebuild itself (provided it is allowed enough time and nutrients to recover): http://www.dailymuscle.com/2006/03/31/muscle-soreness/

Take care !!

Answer #4

I am sooo not sure, but I think its because you rip your muscles in a heavy workout and it causes them to soar, then you gain muscles because more muscle goes over where you ripped it. Causing the saying “no pain no gain”

Answer #5
